According to the statistics of the General Administration of Customs, from January to May 2015, China imported 45,000 tons of pesticides, up 3.9% year on year, and the import volume was USD390 million, a small increase of 0.7% over the year. Among the pesticides, the import quantity of insecticides was 5,000 tons, down 9.8% year on year, and the import volume was USD80 million, a sharp decrease of 17.1% over the year; the import quantity of fungicides was 14,000 tons, a sharp decrease of 6.2% over the year, and the import volume was USD160 million, down 1.1%; the import quantity of herbicides was 16,000 tons, a small decrease of 0.4% over the year, and the import amount was US100 million, a year-on-year increase of 7.0%.
From January to May 2015,, China exported a total of 586,000 tons of pesticides, down 3.8% year on year, and the export volume was USD1.78 billion, a sharp decrease of 10.2% over the year. Among the pesticides, the export quantity and amount of bactericides maintained a growth of 9.8% and 12.8% respectively; the export quantity of insecticides was 95,000 tons, down 5.1% from last year, and the export amount was USD380 million, down 9.3%; the export quantity of herbicides was 435,000 tons, up 4.7% from last year, and the export volume was USD1.15 billion, a sharp decrease of 14.4% from last year.
